NURSING
Upon completion of this 2-year Associate degree in Nursing Program, the graduate will be able to exhibit knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to function effectively as a beginning associate degree nurse in administering direct care to clients in a variety of structured health care settings. The graduate will be able to apply the nursing process in assisting clients to meet basic human needs, based on nursing knowledge concepts, principles from the biological and social sciences and management theories. Selection and Admission
Like other colleges within the City Colleges of Chicago system, Malcolm X College has an open door admission policy. The College Catalogue, as well as the Nursing Student Handbook, indicates that admission to the College does not constitute admission into the Nursing Program. Selective, non-discriminatory criteria, pertaining to race, gender and age are consistent with the State requirements for registered nurse programs.
