Message from the Director
Thank you for your interest in Malcolm X College's Mortuary Science Program. Since its establishment in 1985, the Mortuary Science Program has graduated several success stories. The program has a strong sustained enrollment and a quality of education and instruction that is rated excellent by our students.
One of our primary goals in the Mortuary Science Program is to make a positive contribution to both our students and the funeral profession by integrating ethics across the curriculum. The faculty of the program includes licensed funeral directors and embalmers.
We are committed to a mission of empowering our students of diverse backgrounds and abilities to achieve academic, career and personal success by connecting the funeral profession to the student's educational experiences and moral values that will endure the test of time. While being committed to assisting funeral homes in their efforts to reinforce workplace ethics, there is a valued commitment to establishing fiduciary relationships, moral and ethical responsibilities, both individually and collectively.
