Registration

To register, students must provide proof of address/residency. Acceptable proof of residency includes:
• Valid Driver's License
• Voter's Registration Card
• Public Aid Medical Card
• Utility Bill
• Foreign Consulate ID Card
New students may take their proof of residency to the New Student Service Center (NSSC) in room 1502 to start the registration process. The process consists of four (4) steps:

1. Complete an “Intake Card” and receive instructions for placement testing. All new students are required to take a placement exam to determine the appropriate level for classes.
2. Complete the placement exam (the exam may take up to three hours).
3. Return to the NSSC and meet with a college advisor to establish educational goals; enroll in classes; and obtain study lists detailing classes enrolled. *Please note – registration is not completed without a current study list.
4. Obtain a Malcolm X College identification (ID) card.
