Internal Facilities Requests
Internal requests are requests that have been approved by the dean of the corresponding area where the request is being made. These events involve Malcolm X College employees or students for the purpose of conducting Malcolm X College related business; generally no external organization is involved. If you are not sure whether your event should be considered internal or external please contact the Facilities Department at 312-850-7016.
To request the use of space for an internal event submit a request to the dean of your department. An event is the use of college space for anything outside of classroom activity this does not include private conference rooms or individual offices. This does include department meetings that intend on using common conference rooms or classrooms, committee meetings, and large events involving the public.
When submitting a request to your dean, provide the following information:
- Event title, event content, event agenda, requested date, requested start & end times, coordinator contact information, requested room(s), requested seating arrangements, audiovisual needs, information pertaining to food, and any special comments about your event.
Upon submission of your application requests will be reviewed. Internal requests will be responded to within 72 hours if the request is for a small meeting using a classroom and not requiring set-up from our maintenance staff. Any request outside of a classroom, that is not a small meeting, and/or requires maintenance will be responded to within 7 calendar days.
