Welcome to Malcolm X College Intercollegiate Athletic Program. The athletic program provides student-athletes an avenue to continue their athletic career and an opportunity to continue their academic aspirations. Our athletic program provides a competitive environment through which student-athletes gain direction, purpose and motivation to help them grow academically, athletically, personally and socially. Participation in intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the educational mission of Malcolm X College and athletic competition is offered to enhance the collegiate experience of the student body.
Malcolm X College is committed to providing equal opportunity and welcoming diversity for all student-athletes. The goal is to enable all student-athletes to achieve a meaningful experience. Student-athletes, coaches and staff members are expected to compete with honesty, integrity and exercise good sportsmanship at all times within the guidelines of the City Colleges of Chicago, Malcolm X College, and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Malcolm X College men’s and women’s basketball teams compete in Region 4 of the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association). The NJCAA is the governing body of Junior College Athletics (similar to the NCAA) and has over 500 member’s nation-wide. Both men's and women's basketball teams compete at the NJCAA Division I level.
