Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) governs Malcolm X College students and student organizations. It defends student rights, advocates on students’ behalf, and helps formulate academic and institutional policies that affect students. Additionally, the SGA is the body which plans and sponsors social and cultural events throughout the year.
The Student Government Association is governed by the City Colleges of Chicago District Guidelines.
Membership is open to registered Malcolm X College students in good standing who have six or more credit hours. It offers a great opportunity to develop or enhance leadership skills. Elections for SGA officers and senators occur every spring semester.
Visit the SGA office in Room 2302-A; call 312-850-7456 or the Assistant Dean for Student Development, (312) 850-7066, to learn how you can get involved. The Student Government Association meets Monday 2pm in room 2302-A.
